HUB-IN – Hubs of Innovation and Entrepreneurship for the Transformation of Historic Urban Areas The HUB-IN is a project funded by the Horizon 2020 program of the European Commission that aims to promote the urban transformation and regeneration of historic urban areas (HUA) using as main catalyst the innovation and entrepreneurship, while preserving their unique identity social and cultural identity and the environment. HUB-IN expects to contribute to reverse trends of abandonment and neglect of historic heritage in a systemic way through the creation of networks of Hubs where innovation will be the main driver. HUB-IN will also have a direct impact on the creation of new sustainable opportunities for local traditional businesses and for the development of new creative skills and jobs. Hubs are centers of experimentation in urban innovation and creativity in historic European areas. They are part of the innovation and sustainability ecosystem of the cities, responding to the latest challenges of the Green Deal, establishing the bridge between Science – Technology and Art – Culture.

The project will be implemented in 8 pilot cities. HUB-IN is built based on collaboration among different actors in each HUA and between cities. While the methods applied across city partners will be co-created using a systemic approach, the solutions for each HUA will be specific and adjusted to local strategies as a result of participatory activities and consolidated visions gathered from a broad portfolio of stakeholders and citizens.

As a city with an important historic center, we are committed to helping revitalize the Castle Hill neighborhoods through initiatives focused on people's quality of life, making them a vibrant destination, home to a range of innovative and creative entrepreneurs and where the local community thrives.

This hill is both local and global, grounded in its sense of place, community and with a unique cultural heritage, experienced by different residents and simultaneously attractive to visitors who recognize the uniqueness of this hill.

The Castle Hill HUB aims to catalyze the multicultural character of the neighborhoods that make up the pilot area, as an engine of transformation for the sustainability and well-being of their communities, through the sharing and convergence of innovation and tradition.
