SEED – Education for entrepreneurship and innovation
SEED Sensibilização para o Empreendedorismo e Economia em Contexto Escolar
Lisboa had over the past years many initiatives to support and develop entrepreneurship in schools amongst young individuals. In 2015 we’ve started a partnership with Junior Achievement Portugal, a non-profit organization and the Portuguese counterpart of Junior Achievement, one of the largest and most impactful NGOs dedicated to young people, bringing to our schools the programs designed for the students to acquire skills, develop an entrepreneurial attitude and contribute to positive and sustainable change. In 2021 we’ve launched the SEED program, with the goal of promoting entrepreneurship and economy awareness in a school environment.
The project aims to develop problem-solving, scenario-building and teamwork skills in children and young people, solving problems targeted by the community. Also promotes entrepreneurship education and culture in university environment, namely by fostering meetings between the different universities and between universities and startups to foster new initiatives and skills. The focus is to have training programs for young people in schools with lectures, presentations by entrepreneurs and visits to ecosystem spots, like labs or incubators, creating awareness and willingness to engage in entrepreneurship.
Our entrepreneurship education project guarantees the participation of young people in activities with success and replicable results.
This association between the municipality, the educational community and the entrepreneurial ecosystem is a joint work promoting entrepreneurial skills in children and young people and establishing links between school and professional areas, namely in technological and creative, providing children and young people with new learning opportunities and spaces for incubation and development of their projects in Lisboa.
We have partners like the TEC LABS (Innovation Centre), the FINTECH House Lisboa, FABLAB, BIOLAB, Casa do Impacto (social entrepreneurship promoter) and many Lisboa Universities.
